Who doesn't love Jlo? Her Lit from within look is perhaps one of the most copied looks ever. The secret to her flawless skin is lightly layering and picking the right products for your base.

1st, you need to know your skin type. Knowing you skin type will give you the confidence to tackle the overwhelming cosmetics counter in department stores.

What do you need to achieve flawless skin?
For oily skinned bellas: an oil control face primer.
You can check out: L' oreal Studio Secrets, Bioderma's Pore Refiner, Benefit's Porefessional and No7's Air Brush Away.

For Dry Skinned Bellas: a great moisturiser that will make your foundation glide on your skin. The worst thing that you can ever do is to apply liquid foundation on dry skin that hasn't been moisturised.
You can check out Cetaphil's Moisturising Lotion. I swear by this drugrstore brand and product.

Foundation 101.
Always remember that if your base is perfect, you can skip an elaborate eye make up look and you can leave the house ready to run into your Ex! hahahaha.

For dry skinned ladies. Apply your moisturiser and leave on for 2 mins, if you can't wait, pat with the a tissue.

If you have dry skin opt for foundations which has moisturising properties like Boujois Healthy Mix Foundation, Laura Mercier's Creme Smooth Foundation or Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.

For combination skin: Apply your moisturiser on areas where you tend to get dry and the face primer on areas where u get oily.

I normally use moisturising foundations for combination skinned women and i just powder the areas where they oily and leave the dry areas unpowdered for that healthy, dewy look.

For oily skinned beauties: make sure to tone to remove hidden dirt and excess oil and apply you face primer. Go easy on it though. Piling on the products will not help.

There can only be one kind of formulation for oily skinned ladies and that is full coverage foundation.
Don't be scared because there are several ways of making a full coverage foundation look more natural yet will stay on the entire night.

You might want to check Revlon's colorstay foundation. This is the equivalent of Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation. You may also want to try the Double Wear Light, MAC's Prolong Wear, Make Up Forever's HD Foundation.

To think down full coverage foundation, you may use a damp sponge. The Beauty Blender in this case is your best friend our you may use a damp stippling brush to work the foundation into your skin.

Highlighting 101
Now that you have a perfect base, let's work on that lit from within look or in a more simple term: highlight.

I normally keep the centre of the face highlighted, that means the space in between the brows - not your forehead, bridge of the nose but avoid the top of the nose, tops of the cheekbones and cupid's bow.

For more oomph, add some highlights on the inner corners of the eyes and the brow bone.

Remember, use highlighting products sparingly, you want to glow for that special date. :)

Don't be afraid to mix textures but let one accessory be the main focal point of your ensemble and let the small ones compliment it.

Get creative and use your bangles and bracelets to amp up your pins. :) I used these jewel encrusted bracelet as an anklet.

Studs and Skin.... is Rock and Glam together

Combining elements from very different signature styles is what makes an ensemble interesting and more flavourful. Studs is to Rock and Roll while Gems is to All Out Glam.

Just because your belt hast Gold detailing doesn't mean you cannot pair it with Silver.

What could be sexier than a bikini? A cut out maillot. :)

Got long neckalces? Why don't you use them as belts?

Keep you hair simple and sleek and focus on one part of your face, in this case, I focused on Nadia's eyes when going for a piece of clothing that has a lot of shine.

And always remember to step out in your outfits with confidence and shine. :)

REAL WOMEN, REAL BEAUTY SEASON FOUR

Hi my lovelies! It is FABRUARY!!!! Yay! And what an amazing way to start the month than with  rainshowers?! This means blessings for all of us :)

And what better way to start my birthday month than by posting the photos of 4 exceptional women, who, not only epitomise beauty and grace but more importantly kindness and strength of character.

Gemma, Nympha, Cheryl and Ira were participants of my FACES Season Four Workshop and while their work on themselves were fantastic, what impressed me even more was their views on life and beauty.

And while these four amazing women were thankful for the knowledge that they gained through the workshop, may I just say that I feel privileged to know these women, who beautiful inside and out.
