HALLOWEEN SPECIAL: WALKING DEAD

Halloween is just around the corner my beautiful bloggers! Are you going to a Halloween Party?! It is so exciting to dress up and really go all out on gore this time of the year! hehehehehe

I have been watching Walking Dead lately and to say that I am obsessed is an understatement. hehehe. So, what could be a better tribute to the TV series that is keeping me glued to the boob tube than with  Halloween Look inspired by the series :)

Hope you all like this spooky look and do let me know about your Halloween looks :)

Love and Light,
A

YOU HAVE TO START WITH A CLEAN FACE.
MAKE SURE TO TONE AND SKIP THE MOISTURISER.
I USED A MATIFIER TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING STICKS WELL.

BECAUSE A ZOMBIE'S FACE DOES NOT CONVEY ANY EXPRESSION, I ALSO COVERED MY BROWS.

I APPLIED THE LIGHTEST SHADE FROM THE GRAFTOBIAN PALETTE ALL OVER MY FACE. MAKE SURE TO COVER YOUR EARS AND ALL PARTS OF YOUR BODY THAT WILL BE EXPOSED.

SINCE ZOMBIES ARE DEAD, YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR FACE AS GAUNT AS POSSIBLE.
I APPLIED A DARK SHADE OF CREAM FOUNDATION ON MY TEMPLES, HOLLOWS OF THE CHEEKS, I ALSO LINED MY FOREHEAD, UPPER LIPS AND I DARKENED MY UNDER EYE AREA

I BLENDED MY LINES.

TO MIMIC THE BRUISED LOOK, I COMBINED RED, BLACK AND BLUE MATTE EYE SHADOW.
DETERMINE WHERE U WANT YOUR BRUISES AS WELL.

FOR MY BRUISES, I JUST USED MY TRUST EYE LASH GLUE AND ALLOWED IT TO DRY.
WHEN IT DRIED OUT, I JUST POKED SOME HOLES AND APPLIED A RED MATTE EYE SHADOW.

CREATE SOME DIMENSION ON THE WOUNDS BY COLORING THE SURROUNDING AREA WITH BLACK, VIOLET AND BLUE EYE SHADOW. MAKE SURE THEY ARE MATTE.

LAST STEP IS TO FILL YOUR WOUNDS WITH RED LIP GLOSS.
YOU CAN ALSO ADD SOME CONTACTS AND BLACKEN YOUR TEETH TO FINISH THE LOOK.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

PUT ON YOUR BEST SKIN FORWARD WITH JANE IREDALE

Have you ever been so excited to write about a product that you hurry from the event so you can start typing away on your computer? Having been in the industry for quite a while and having tested a lot of products, I am always on the lookout for the next product that will sweep me off my feet. I am not very particular with new eye make up products because the only thing that I look for in an eyeshadow is the pay off but when it comes to foundations and base products, there is just so much to consider before I can say fairly say that I am impressed and without a shadow of a doubt can recommend it all to you.

To say that I am skeptic about mineral make up will probably be an understatement. Back in 09 when mineral Make up was in vogue, I did succumb to the fad and bought myself 3 sets of a very well know Mineral Make Up brand only to be disappointed. There was another Mineral Make Up brand that I tried and it did impress me but the fact that it was powder and falling all over the place was such a hassle that I never considered buying again. So, when I got invited the private testing/launch of Jane Iredale’s Mineral Make Up I could not help my skepticism from seeping through. However, in my opinion it is better to be skeptical in the beginning and just be bowled over after trying the product than the other way around. And that is exactly what happened to me!

Jane Iredale Make Up is not just Mineral Make up, it is skin care  make up that provides beautiful colours and coverage that can rival any department store brands. Another good thing about their products is that it is fragrance free. So many department store brands and drugstore brands do have a slight fragrance to their cosmetics and though it smells amazing, it can be wreak havoc to women with extremely sensitive skin.

ME... STRIPPED OFF OF MY FOUNDATION AND.... FEELING VULNERABLE. HEHEHE

During the launch I decided to try on the Liquid Minerals Foundation in Caramel and as soon as you start blending it with the brush, you will see it cover yet it still looks like your skin… bonus to that is the glow that the product has once applied. I am not one to put superlatives in my reviews as I think you, my lovelies deserve an honest to goodness review but this product is, for the lack of a better word is simply UNBELIEVABLE!. I don’t think that the photos that I took gave it justice.

ME WITH THE FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER

ME WITH THE BRONZER AND HIGHLIGHTER

I also applied their Circle/Delete in 1 on my dark cirles and unevenness around the nose. What sealed the deal for me was their Pure Pressed Bases. I set my foundation with one in Golden Glow. It feels like silk and glides on so smoothly. Buffed on to the skin with their kabuki brush just produces an amazing finish…. It is your skin but 100 times better!

Another great thing about their Pure Pressed Bases is that there is no shimmer so you can use a lightly darker shade to create your contour which I did. I used butternut and light beige as my highlighter.

I did not try on their eye products because like what I said, base products are the most important to me and once I saw the results,  I was sold! COMPLETELY!

The products, however, are not yet available in retail but is currently sold in special salons in Dubai. I guess this is one of the drawbacks.

You will definitely see me using the Liquid Minerals Foundation in the future Make Up Looks and will keep you my lovelies in the loops for Jane Iredale news!

Hi My lovelies! PENELOPE CRUZ INSPIRED MAKE UP

Hi my lovelies! Hope everyone is happy and healthy and while the weather is cooling down, work is heating up, and I am currently down with a fever, not good. :(

Some months back, I hosted a send off luncheon at home and my good friend requested for a Mexican themed lunch and for some reason the 1st thing that came to my mind was Penelope Cruz' character in Women on Top when her character was in fact, Brazilian. hehehe. Maybe it was because of her movie with my Beauty Icon, Salma Hayek, BANDIDAS that made me do the association.

This association got me started on googling for Ms. Cruz' images and I think that this photo from L'Oreal ad is perhaps one of the best that I have seen.

So, without further ado, here is my interpretation of Ms. Penelope Cruz' look for L'Oreal.

Love and Light,
A

PENELOPE CRUZ
I BELIEVE THIS IS FROM ONE OF L'OREAL'S MASCARA ADS.

LET'S BEGIN THE LATINA BOMBSHELL TRANSFORMATION

LOOKING AT PENELOPE'S PHOTO, THERE IS NO HINT OF SHIMMER ON THE FACE OR EYES.
TO KEEP MY FACE MATTE, I APPLIED NO. 7'S AIR BRUSH AWAY PRIMER ALL OVER MY FACE.

I ALSO APPLIED ELIZABETH ARDEN'S 8 HOUR CREAM ON MY LIPS.

PENELOPE'S SKIN LOOKS EXTREMELY FLAWLESS AND TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK I DECIDED TO USE MY KRYOLAN PAN STICK FOUNDATION.

SINCE KRYOLAN IS ALREADY HIGH DEFINITION, I USED A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF MY MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER UNDER MY EYES, AROUND THE NOSE AND LIPS.

TO DEFINE AND THICKEN MY BROWS, I USED MY BEN NYE TAUPE EYEBROW PENCIL AND BROW ZINGS IN MEDIUM

THE WHOLE MAKE UP LOOK IS SOMEWHAT REMINISCENT OF THE EARLY 90'S SUPERMODEL LOOK - MODERN MATTE, SO I USED ALL MATTE SHADES FOR THE EYES.

START BY APPLYING A GOOD EYE SHADOW BASE. I USED MY URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION.

I APPLIED A MATTE MEDIUM BROWN EYE SHADOW ALL OVER MY LID. FOR THIS LOOK, I USED URBAN DECAY'S BUCK E/S.

FOR THE CREASE DEFINITION, I ACTUALLY JUST USED THE CONTOURING COLOUR FROM MY MUFE CONTOUR KIT AND BLENDED.

FOR THE HIGHLIGHT, I USED THE LIGHTER SHADE FROM MY MUFE CONTOUR KIT AS WELL
LINE YOUR KASH BED WITH A BLACK LINER, SEEING THAT THERE WAS NO SHIMMER, I USED A BLACK KOHL PENCIN (MAC'S FELINE)

I ALSO DID NOT DO A DRAMATIC FLICK.

LINE YOUR WATER LINE WITH THE BLACK PENCIL AND ON THE LOWER LASH LINE SMUDGE A DARK BROWN PENCIL. I USED MAC'S TEDDY FOR THIS.

APPLY YOUR FALSIES FOR THAT EXTRA DRAMA.

MAKE SURE TO APPLY 2 COATS OF MASCARA ON YOUR BOTTOM LASHES.

IF YOU LOOK AT PENELOPE'S LIPS, HER CUPID'S BOW WAS THE ONLYPART WHERE THERE WAS SHIMMER.

I DEFINED MY LIPS WITH L'OREAL'S MILK CHOCOLATE LIP LINER AND APPLIED MAC'S VIVA GLAM IN LADY GAGA LIPSTICK.

FOR THAT ADDED SHIMMER ON THE BOTTOM LIP, I APPLIED SOME GLOSS.

AND HERE YOU GO! :)

THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN INFRONT MY BALCONY TO CHECK IF THE MAKE UP LOOKS NATURAL AND IT DOES. :)

AUTUMN NIGHTS

Hi my blogger lovelies! This is the evening version of my fall look. This is a sample of another make up in balance where both the eyes and lips are dramatic, however, still doesn't look OTT.

Hope are all having a great weekend, preferably cozying up with your loved ones. :)

Love and Light,
A

AUTUMN NIGHTS!

START WITH A CLEAN AND MOISTURISED FACE.
I APPLIED BIODERMA'S PORE REFINER AND ELIZABETH ARDEN'S 8 HOUR CREAM ON MY LIPS

FOR MY BASE I WANTED TO HAVE IMMACULATE SKIN SO I OPTED FOR NARS SHEERGLOW FOUNDATION AND MAC'S PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER TO HIDE MY DARK CIRLCES AND REDNESS AROUND THE NOSE.

FOR MY CONTOUR I USED MY TRUSTY  MAKE UP FOREVER CONTOUR KIT.
NARS LAGUNA BRONZER ADDS WARMTH TO THE FACE.

TO CREATE FULLER BROWS I USED BEN NYE'S BROW PENCIL IN TAUPE AND BENEFIT'S BROW ZING IN MEDIUM.

TO CREATE THIS SULTRY AUTUMN NIGHTS LOOK, I SIMPLY LINED MY WATERLINE WITH MAC'S PEARLGLIDE PENCIL IN UNDERCURRENT AND SMUDGED IT WITH THE MOSS GREEN SHADOW FOUND IN COASTAL SCENTS' FALL PALETTE.

TO ADD FURTHER INTENSITY, I APPLIED MAC'S MEDIA LIPSTICK.

 ET VOILA

AND YOU ARE READY TO HEAT UP THOSE AUTUMN NIGHTS!

BEAUTIFALL.....

Hi my Lovelies! Aren't you all happy that the weather is finally getting better? I am enjoying the slight breeze and soon the weather will be perfect for those long walks that we weren't able to make during those long hot summer months. :)

The slight change in our weather inspired me to start making my fall looks and although we don't see the leaves change their colour, it is still nice to switch from bronzy looks to a make up look that is slightly bolder or spicier as fall is synonymous to pumpkins and cinnamons :)

Hope you are all happy and healthy and promise to post more looks! :)

Love and Light,
A

BEAUTIFALL......

ALWAYS START WITH A CLEAN AND MOISTURISED FACE
I APPLIED BIODERMA'S PORE REFINER ALL OVER MY FACE AND ELIZABETH ARDEN'S 8 HOUR CREAM ON MY LIPS

FOR MY BASE I APPLIED NARS SHEERGLOW FOUNDATION IN BARCELONA.
TO CONCEAL MY DARK CIRCLES AND REDNESS AROUND THE NOSE, I USED MAC'S PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER.
TO SET MY BASE I DUSTED ON MAC'S MINERALISE SKIN FINISH NATURAL IN MEDIUM.

TO DEFINE MY CHEEKBONES AND SLIM DOWN MY NOSE, I USED MAKE UP FOREVER'S CONTOUR KIT.
I USED NARS LAGUNA BRONZER TO TO ADD WARMTH TO MY FACE.
TO GIVE THAT LIT FROM WITHIN LOOK I APPLIED MAC'S EXTRA DIMENSION SKIN FINISH IN SUPERB.

TO CREATE FULLER BROWS, I USED BEN NYE'S EYE BROW PENCIL IN TAUPE AND SINCE DYING MY HAIR BLACK, I STARTED USING MY BROW ZINGS IN MEDIUM.

TO CREATE A DAYTIME FALL LOOK, I USED COASTAL SCENTS' AUTUMN LEAVES PALETTE.
I APPLIED THE MATTE WHITE EYE SHADOW ALL OVER MY LID.
TO SPICE UP THE EYES SOFTLY, I APPLIED THE SHIMMERY ORANGE COLOUR ON MY CREASE AND I ALSO LINED MY LASH BED AS WELL MY LOWER LASHLINE.

I LINES MY LOWER LASHLINE WITH THE SHIMMERY GREEN EYESHADOW AS WELL.
I JUST CURLED MY LASHES AND APPLIED 2 COATS OF DIOR SHOW MASCARA ON MY TOP LASHES ONLY.

ALMOST COMPLETE

FOR THE LIPS I WANTED IT TO BE WARM AND CHOCOLATEY... NOT SURE IF YOU GUYS REMEMBER THE AD OF CINDY CRAWFORD FOR REVLON WAY BACK IN THE 90'S WHERE SHE WORE SOMETHING BROWN ON HER LIPS.
I DEFINED MY LIPS WITH MAC'S STONE LIPLINER AND FILLED IT IN WITH MAC'S CHELSEA LIPSTICK (ANOTHER CIRCA EARLY 90'S FAVOURITE)

SIMPLE AND POLISHED FOR THE COLDER SEASON.

LET'S BE BEAUTIFALL :-)
