THE LAWS OF ATTRACTION

Hi my lovelies! Yes, I have been MIA! If July was hectic because of my move, August was  the same but this time there was just so much work! I have yet to share you lovelies the editorial that I did for a magazine where we transformed 4 lucky and lovely ladies into their favourite style icons. :)

But before I do that I want to share with all of you my recent work entitled The Laws of Attraction. This beauty feature aside from it being important to me professionally, has a sentimental twist to it. 10 years ago, the man who inspired me to pick up a make up brush and start painting faces, the late and great Kevyn Aucoin passed away.

Because of his amazing work that graced the covers of Cosmopolitan during the early 90's featuring the Supermodels photographed by Francesco Scavullo, I fell in love with Make Up and boy, did I fall hard! lol! I am talking as if I am describing how I fell in love with my BF! hahahaha.

From 1996 when I purchased my 1st professional brushes till now, it has just been like a marriage made in heaven, I just keep on falling in love - with new products, new techniques, looks.

To pay tribute to the man who started it all for me, I thought about putting together what I think makes a great face. While it is fun to experiment with colours and looks, a flawless skin is a must and a red lip is simply timeless. Much like Kevyn's work... timeless and simply inspiring.

Thank you.

THE FLAWLESS SKIN
NOTHING CAN BE MORE BEAUTIFUL

THE GLOW
MASTER WHERE TO APPLY YOUR HIGHLIGHT AND YOU WILL ALWAYS LOOK LIKE YOU ARE LIT FROM WITHIN.

CONTOUR.... MY FAVOURITE
CHISELED CHEEKBONES AND AN AQUILINE NOSE DOES SOMETHING WONDERFUL TO A WOMAN'S SELF CONFIDENCE.

BROW BEAUTIFUL
TO SAY THAT I AM OBSESSED WITH CREATING THE SYMMETRICAL BROWS WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
FULL, SLIGHTLY LIGHTER AND ARCHED BROWS ARE MY FAVOURITE.

THE BLACK LINER
ONE WAY TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER IN MINUTES IS TO MASTER THE BLACK LINER AND THE FLICK.

THE FLICK
REMINISCENT OF BOMBSHELLS DURING THE 60'S, THE FLICK IS SYNONYMOUS TO BEAUTIES LIKE BARDOT AND LOREN.

THE SMOKEY EYE.
JUST SEXY... FULL STOP.

THE RED LIP
EVERY WOMAN MUST OWN A RED LIPSTICK THAT MAKES HER FEEL UBER GLAMOROUS.

MICHAEL KORS INSPIRED EYE MAKE UP

Where have I been my lovelies?! I have been MIA again and it is because work just piled up! Can't say that I am back for regular blog posts but I will definitely try to post something every week.

This is the photo from the Michael Kors ad that I tweeted on the 20th of April.

Let us start with the base, shall we?

For this look I used NARS' Sheerglow foundation
To conceal blemishes I used Make Up Forever's Creme Colour Palette and topped it off with MAC's Pro Long Wear Concealer
Before powdering I applied NARS Orgasm Highlighter on areas that I want to highlight.
I powdered with MAC's mineralise powder.

These are the tools that I used for the base.

To create the bronze look, I used NARS Laguna bronzer as my contour and applied NARS orgasm blush every so lightly on the apples of my cheeks.

These are the tools that I used to create the Smokey Michael Kors Eyes.
