PLAYING WITH LIGHTS

Last weekend, in preparation for Hunny's upcoming exhibit, we took our cameras for a night out and took photos of the city but not in the usual fashion. We had no tripods and I was shooting photos while the car was moving. If some photo enthusiast saw me doing that, they'd probably think that I was a nutcase. I probably am. hehehehe

I have never done photos at night and when I do decide it take photos it will always be in Black and White so I was pleasantly surprised at myself that I actually liked photographing the lights in the city and making them dance in my photos.

I am not a photographer and I never will claim to be one. Just an enthusiast.

Hope you like my first foray into abstract photography :)

PRODUCT REVIEW: MAX FACTOR MIRACLE TOUCH

SHOWING OFF THE MIKYAJY MINX LINER IN ELECTRIC BLUE :)

POWDERED

UNPOWDERED

Mirror Mirror on the wall, Who is the fairest of them all? Or should I say which is the best foundation of them all? My quest for the best foundation has not stopped yet. Next in line is a drugstore brand which I have to say is the biggest cosmetic surprise for me for this year.

At AED 79 per piece or USD 21, the Max Factor Miracle Touch is just fabulous! It is cream based so its great for women who have dry skin. I applied it with the sponge that comes with it and it glides on smoothly. Since its a compact, if you want to use on others, you can just scoop out a small amount with a spatula and warm it up on your hand for better application.

I applied quite a rich moisturiser, half expecting for me to get oily towards the end of the day but I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed fresh till the afternoon.

This does not cover much, it actually is very light, thus, may not be good for women who likes the full coverage look and feel and if you like to cover some scars or blemishes.

Like with most drugstore brands, the colours are limited and most of the undertones are pink. For women who have yellow undertones like myself, pick Golden or Tan :) But over all at AED 79 its worth buying for everyday use.

PRODUCT REVIEW: MAC PRO LONG WEAR FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER

SOMETHING SUITABLE FOR EVERYDAY.

RAW SUGAR FROM EVERYDAY MINERALS ON THE CHEEKS.
SOME GREEN SHADOW AS A LINER.
MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER AND FOUNDATION IN ACTION

Hi Everyone! Here is another review of one of my purchases during the Eid Holiday because I have been obsessing about Foundations recently, its not surprising that I gave in to the temptation of buying the new release from MAC. The Pro Long Wear Foundation and Concealer.

I got the Foundation in NC 35, its 30ML at AED 150 (around USD 41) and the concealer in NC 35 as well. The concealer comes in a pump and is 9ML at AED 85 (around USD 23).

According to MAC, The Pro Longwear is Medium to Full Coverage and lasts for up to 15 hours. The same claim of Estee Lauder Double Wear. (which is true, by the way)

Let me start the review with the Concealer. It comes in a bottle with a pump. Dont press the pump too much as it will dispense too much. I learned that you don't need much of this product to see results. I like the consistency of the concealer. It is very light but when you apply it on your undereye and just pat it, it conceals seamlessly. It also worked on discolourations, however, since this is in liquid form, make sure to just pat when concealing blemishes or discolouration.

The Foundation has a very light consistency but really covers well. If you compare my photos here and the my photos when I wore Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, you will notice the difference.

The true test came this afternoon when I had to go around town and pay bills, was under the sun, felt the road air (as oppossed to fresh air), went to the mall to pick up some stuff and got a compliment from a Jane Norman sales associate. She said that I still look fresh! :) That was 8pm and I applied my make up at 0730. I did not even powder the whole day coz I forgot my brush and my compact had no sponge! hehehehe. Unretouched for 14 hours! Kudos to MAC!

In a nutshell I personally think that both products are worth buying. The Coverage is fantastic, the staying power is unquestionable and the price is very reasonable :)

CLOSE UP ON THE SKIN

ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR LIGHT

I am currently obsessed with foundations at the moment. Light, Medium, Full Coverage, Liquid, Cream. Bring it on and Ill try them all! hahaha.

I bought a couple of foundations during the Eid break and the first product that I will be reviewing is Estee Lauder Double Wear Light.

A lot of women have asked me what my favourite foundations are I always say, in no particular order, Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Chanel Mat Lumiere and Dior Skin Forever. However, after trying The Double Wear Light, I have to admit that I have a new favourite.

Its AED 171 or USD 46 to USD 50, widely available in department stores.

It seemed unscented and glides on smoothly. Provides full coverage withouth caking you up and though its full coverage and matt, it made my skin glow.

This foundation is ideal for women who prefers full coverage to cover some blemishes without the heavy feeling. It is also great for women who have oily skin. I applied my foundation and 0730 and it it now 1230 in the evening, I did not even retouch the whole day and my skin remained oil free.

If you have dry skin, this can also work for you, provided that you moisturise well.

Downside of this is that there are not much colours for darker skinned women. Hope Estee Lauder produces more colours :)

All in all USD 50 or AED 171 is not such a steep price to pay to flawless looking skin. :)

AUTUMN/WINTER 2010 FASHION TRENDS: JEWEL TONES

THIS DRESS REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF SERENA VAN DERWUDSEN
DRESS: ENAJ ORTIZ
SHOES: NEW LOOK

DRESS: THE CABINET ROOM

This season of merriment, let all eyes be on you with colours that reflect Royalty. There is nothing more eyecatching than a beautiful woman dressed in colours that bring out her inner Princess.

With Black back in a big way, it is tempting to go back to our comfort colour for this season but Donna Karan, Vera Wang, YSL and Lanvin proves that Garnet, Amethyst and even Carnelian goes a long way.
