A WEEK IN COLOUR

WHEN WEARING CLOTHES WHICH CLINGS TO THE BODY, ITS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE GOT YOUR BACK COVERED.... VPL'S! ARE BUT THE WORST THING, PROBABLY SECOND TO SHOE PRICE TAGS ON THE SOLES OF YOUR SHOES. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SEAMLESS UNDERWEAR ON, A T BACK OR BETTER A PAIR OF SPANX. :)
* WATCH OUT FOR WARDROBE MUST HAVES: THE UNDERGARMENTS :)

DRESS: LAUNDRY

THOUGH THE TREND DICTATES DEEP NECKLINES, IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE TO WEAR SOMETHING THIS DEEP TO THE OFFICE. OPT FOR A TUBE TOP AND YOU CAN TAKE IT OFF AFTER WORK WHEN YOU GO FOR COCKTAILS
BAG: LOUIS VUITTON

DAY FIVE: RED SINCE I AM PETITE, I ALWAYS TRY TO DRESS IN A WAY WHICH WILL MAKE ME LOOK TALLER AND WEARING A PAIR OF BEIGE OR TAN PUMPS DOES ELONGATE YOUR LEGS. IF YOU HAVE CHUNKY CALVES STEER CLEAR OF ROUND TOE PUMPS AND OPT OF POINTED ONES
PEEP TOE PUMPS: ALDO

IF YOU WANT A MORE VINTAGE LOOK, GO FOR A THICKER BELT THAT CAN CINCH THE WAIST MORE. THE BELT IN THIS ENSEMBLE IS ATTACHED TO THE SKIRT. I THINK PEEP TOE PUMPS EXUDES THE 50'S CHARM

DAY FOUR: GREEN
TOP: ZARA

SKIRT: NEW LOOK
CLUTCH: SPLASH

CHOKER: NEW LOOK

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE ATTENTION THAT LOUD COLOURS WILL DRAW ON YOU, TRY PARING IT WITH NEUTRALS LIKE BLACK, BROWN AND BEIGE.

WHEN WEARING EXTREMELY BRIGHT CLOTHES, KEEP THE ACCESSORIES SMALL SO IT DOES NOT COMPETE WITH YOUR OUTFIT.

PUTTING ON A CARDI TAKES THIS OUTFIT BACK TO THE 50'S AND MAKES IT APPROPRIATE FOR THE OFFICE
CARDI: ZARA

CLUTCH: MANGO

DAY THREE: TOMATO RED
DRESS: KENNETH COLE

PUMPS: ALDO

I LOVE THE BIG BOW AND THE DRAMATIC YET FEMININE COLLAR OF THIS DRESS. :)

DAY TWO: FUSCHIA
NO FULL SKIRT HERE BUT THE BIG NECKLINE REMINDED ME OF SOME OF MY GRANDMA NITA'S CLOTHES :)
DRESS: GREENHILLS
PUMPS: ALDO
BAG: THE CABINET ROOM
SUNNIES: PRADA

THE BAGS AT THE LV COLLECTION WERE VERY STRUCTURED AND IT DID HAVE A LOT OF TEXTURE.
RING: STONE AGE

I SAW A LOT OF SHOES IN THE COLLECTION WHICH HAD DAINTY BOWS AND IT KIND OF VEERED AWAY FROM SKY HIGH HEELS, INSTEAD THEY WERE PREDOMINANTLY KITTEN HEELS.

DAY ONE: AQUA
DRESS: KENNETH COLE
BELT: NEW LOOK
BAG: YSL

SHOES: DOLCE GABBANA

THIS DRESS DID NOT HAVE A BELT SLOT BUT PUTTING ONE ON GIVES THE SKIRT MORE VOLUME AND IN TOTALITY MAKES THE OUTFIT LOOK MORE INTERESTING

THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS WEEK'S LOOKS :) FULL SKIRTS, CINCHED WAIST WHICH IS REMINISCENT OF THE 5O'S UBER FEMININE LOOKS

Don't you sometimes wake up and realise that you have no idea as to what you are going to wear? Well, I find that sometimes having a theme for the week will eliminate the difficulty of finding what to wear.

I kind of decided to compete with the Dubai Summer by wearing colour the entire week and see who shines more. hehehe. Aside from Colour, being the main theme, I looked at the trends from the Autumn/Winter collections to find the inspiration for the cuts of the clothes that I will be wearing this week. I took inspiration from the 50's inspired collection of Louis Vuitton. There were very nice full skirts, cinched waists, deep necklines The entire collection is, for me, dedicated to the woman who loves her curves and loves exuding femininity.

Looking at the Trends for the coming season and seeing whats in your closet saves you money, makes you creative and see what you can mix and match to create the look that is on trend without breaking the bank. :)
